From the importer: Native yeasts. Aging in inert containers and then large casks for about two years. No filtration.

Complex, tightly wound nose (even with some time in bottle). Ferrous, with a taut roasted cranberry presence. Clean and precise, with Assam tea tannins and notable length. Very serious. Pertichetta is the diminutive form of a local Piemontese dialect word for hectare (from pertica, a unit of measure for both length and area that dates back to Roman times).

92 Points! The estate's 2013 Roero Vigna di Lino is powerful, dense and explosive. Lavender, violet, spice and bluish-hued fruits give the 2013 much of its distinctive personality. Deceptive in its mid-weight structure, the 2013 offers quite a bit of depth. With time in the glass, the wine gains freshness and slightly redder tonalities in its fruit. 95 Points! The 2013 Barolo Ginestra shows grace and purity, with significant power at the back that is partially fueled by the wine's well-integrated alcohol (recorded at 15%). The wine's texture is compact, and the flavor knitting is tight and carefully detailed.
