93 Points! I was able to taste three 2021s from Woodward Canyon. The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Artist Series checks in as 87% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Petit Verdot, 5% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc and was brought up in 30% new French and Hungarian oak. It's a perfumed, exotic, pretty red that has both red and blue fruits as well as some underlying sappy flowers, truffle, and leafy herb-like aromas and flavors. It's beautifully balanced, has fine tannins, and a pure, layered, seamless profile that will evolve gracefully over the coming 15 years. - Jeb Dunnuck

94 Points! The 2021 Pinot Noir San Saba Vineyard is striking.  Bright, aromatic and full of punch, the 2021 delivers tons of savory flavor intensity in its deceptively mid-weight frame. Crushed red cherry fruit, rose petals, mint, chalk and white pepper abound. This layered, delineated Pinot hits all the right notes. Impressive. - Antonio Galloni, Vinous Media

    94 Points!
Sour cherry, oregano, marjoram and bay leaf aromas make for an engaging nose of fruit and herb on this bottling from a vineyard just below the Santa Lucia Highlands. The palate snaps with strawberry and raspberry flavors that are cut by the eucalyptus leaf and wild sagebrush impacts. - Matt Kettmann, Wine Enthusiast

94 Points! There’s no denying that this very elegant Mosel riesling Spatlese has some natural grape sweetness, as is normal for the category. This sweetness is married to understated fresh acidity that makes it very cool, minty, lively and elegant. Plenty of white tree fruit and shrub notes. Drink or hold. - JamesSuckling.com

93 Points! The 2023 Riesling Bernkasteler Badstube Spätlese has a touch of flint on the nose before chervil, lemon and dead nettle kick in. The palate brings in notes of Reine, Claude plum greengage, white peach and candied lime peel. Sweetness is cut by acid and vice versa-they are equal elements creating their own, quiet, delicious drama. It has wonderful length. (Sweet)" - Anne Krebiehl MW, Vinous Media

97 Points! The beautifully expressive 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon Wynns John Riddoch radiates with lavender and violets over a deep core of blackberry and gravel. The fine oak is seamlessly balanced. There's a fantastic brightness of flavor with dried herbs, fennel seed and rosemary intertwined with layers of robust dark fruit flavors. A heart backbone of dense tannins is sure to reward the patient for what is a searingly weighty Coonawarra Cabernet. - Angus Hughson, Vinous Media

96+ Points! The 2020 John Riddoch Limited Release Cabernet Sauvignon is supple and red fruited, layered with an abundance of cassis, bramble, black cherry, creme de menthe inflections and lashings of soft garden leaf herbs. In the mouth, the tannins are seamless, pliable and flexible. They splay over and around the fruit, shaping it in an ebb and flow of texture. A beautiful wine, it undulates as much as it resists the tide. It drinks beautifully, ages beautifully. Gorgeous wine. - Erin Larkin, robertparker.com

94 Points! The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon leads with glossy black fruits, dried mint, licorice, pink peppercorn and blood plum. The tannins are chewy and supple and feel ultra fine in the context of the length of flavor and intensity thereof. Silty is another word. It's a lovely wine, from a very good Cabernet vintage in Margaret River. - Erin Larkin, robertparker.com

94 Points! The nose is perfumed and lifted, with notes of blackcurrants, boysenberries, violets, blueberries and mocha. The palate is full-bodied with finely grained tannins and focused acidity, showing tightly bound notes of potpourri, iodine, wild blackberries and mulberries, Very fresh and focused, with a structure that will age gracefully. 97 Points! The 2022 The Signature Cabernet Sauvignon Shiraz is so pretty—floral, red fruited and fine. This is a beautiful iteration of this wine. Ironically, there's a coastal freshness about it—kelp, brine, crushed shells—given it is nowhere near the coast. It's capacious and mineral and so fresh. The tannins are fine and neat, and the wine has incredible focus and line through the long finish. It's very impressive, potentially one of my favorite releases of this wine to date. It has wholly Barossa fruit this vintage. - Erin Larkin, robertparker.com

92 Points! A finely calibrated version that offers high-toned elements of violet, plum and black currant alongside an iron-edged, chalky mineral backbone. Warm earth and humus notes fill in, with salty intensity and smoked bacon accents. Singed mesquite smoke wafts through the delicious finish, which shows good density. Matured with 20% whole bunch and the same level of new oak, the 2018 Pommard Les Rugiens 1er Cru has an elegant, refined bouquet that gradually unfurls to reveal blackberry, briar and light wild strawberry scents, the stems lending a little pepperiness. The palate is medium-bodied with firm tannins and very well-judged acidity. Delivers impressive tension and structure toward the linear, very persistent finish. This is an outstanding Les Rugiens, one of the best you will find this vintage. - Neal Martin, Vinous Media Learn More

The overall elegance is confirmed on the palate with medium body, integrated, refreshing acidity and savory, long, layered finish. One of the best Ripassos tasted this year. - JamesSuckling.com

93 Points! The 2021 Ripassa Valpolicella Ripasso Superiore entices with a beguiling bouquet of sweet herbs, wet stones, crushed blueberries and hints of spice. It is silken and round, with weighty textures offset by cooling acidity as masses of ripe red and blue fruits swirl throughout. The finish has grippy tannins balanced by a bump of fresh acidity as hints of plums fade slowly. - Eric Guido, Vinous

97 Points! There’s nothing obvious about this intensely spicy gewurz. In fact, studying the aromas is like solving an intricate puzzle. Very powerful and creamy with succulent tropical-fruit character, the bold minerality balancing the touch of sweetness. The palate is no less intriguing, thanks to the cool depths that are ever more revealed on the very refined finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold. – JamesSuckling.com

99 Points! A great masterpiece of finesse. It’s hard to adequately describe the beauty of this dry riesling that marries breathtaking stone fruit aromas with an incredible freshness to create an overwhelmingly elegant and cool whole. Let yourself sink into the deep well of its staggering minerality at the almost endless finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold. - JamesSuckling.com

97 Points! The 2022 Brand Turckheim Riesling is very clear, bright and generous on the finely flinty (or petrichor) nose that indicates ripe and elegant fruit intertwined with cooler herbal and vegetal notes. Round, generous yet also very mineral and tensioned on the palate, with fine yet palatable tannins, this is another powerful and structured Riesling, yet it is finer than the Wineck-Schlossberg. It's bone dry yet rich and very long. The yield was 45 hectoliters per hectare. 13.66% alcohol. Natural cork. - Stephan Reinhardt, robertparker.com

99 Points! The late-budding and rather late-ripening Clos Saint-Urbain, in the very south of Alsace, meets the very warm and solar 2022 vintage in this wine. What a thrilling setting this is, the more so since August and September brought rather cooler conditions to this cooler but, due to its dark soils and stony terraces in summer, nevertheless warm terroir of the Rangen. Indeed, the pH level was rather low in 2022 (at 3.1) and caused a dry and tense Riesling that doesn't at all show the characteristics of the Rieslings around Turckheim or elsewhere in Alsace. The 2022 Clos Saint-Urbain Rangen de Thann Riesling opens very clear, pure, saline/iodine-inflected and stony on the flinty or smoky nose that represents the volcanic terroir of the clos perfectly or, as Olivier Humbrecht puts it, "Like a volcano fart." Powerful, rich and saline on the palate, this is a dense, highly complex and energetic Saint-Urbain that somehow combines the purity of Dönnhoff's Hermannshöhle with the concentration, power and mineral complexity of the magnesium-rich Rangen. The finish is very intense, dense and aromatic as well as salivating, with a great mix of tannins, saline acidity and perfectly ripe (apricot) fruit. Pressed slowly over 14 hours, this is one of the, if not THE, finest Rangen I have tasted from Zind-Humbrecht. (Loyal readers know that I had them all a year ago.) The 2022 comes in with 12.8% alcohol and is a wine to keep for many years. - Stephan Reinhardt, robertparkercom

93 Points! Blueberries, dark plums, tea leaves and crushed rocks on the nose with a touch of manuka honey. It’s full-bodied, firm and compact. Solid tannin frame. Lots of juicy black fruit, but still tightly wound. Drink from 2025. - JamesSuckling.com

92 Points! Bright, juicy, and firm with chalky tannins, this wine surprises with boldness. Youthful notes of cherries and wildflowers emerge. Though austere and tight, its lively, crunchy palate promises potential, marked by refreshing oak spice. - Decanter Magazine
